A REMS-Certified Treatment for Depression
Klarisana offers FDA-approved SPRAVATO® (esketamine) therapy for adults struggling with Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD), Major Depressive Disorder with Suicidal Ideation (MDDSI). As a REMS-certified provider, we ensure that every patient receives care in a safe, supervised setting—fully compliant with federal guidelines.
What Is SPRAVATO®?
SPRAVATO is a nasal spray formulation of esketamine, derived from ketamine and approved for use in patients who haven’t found relief with traditional antidepressants. Administered in-clinic only under strict observation, SPRAVATO can produce rapid improvements in mood and symptoms.
Is Spravato ketamine?
Yes. Ketamine exists as a mixture of two mirror-image molecules, known as the S- and R-enantiomers. SPRAVATO contains only the purified S-enantiomer (esketamine), which is FDA-approved for treatment-resistant depression and administered as a nasal spray.
How Does SPRAVATO Work?
SPRAVATO targets NMDA receptors in the brain, triggering increased neural connectivity and rapid antidepressant effects. Unlike SSRIs, which can take weeks, SPRAVATO may begin to work within hours or days.
How long does Spravato last?
Many patients experience improvements that last days to weeks, especially when paired with psychotherapy.
What is ketamine nasal spray used for?
SPRAVATO is used to treat treatment-resistant depression and depression with suicidal thoughts in adults.

EXCELLENT Based on 96 reviews Whitney2024-06-14 This place has completely transformed my life. Years of talk therapy can’t compare to what just one session was able to do for me at Klarisana. I did about 8 sessions two years ago, but stopped when there were insurance issues and it was a loss I had to grieve. They have since began accepting my insurance again and I have restarted my treatments. I’ve only completed one so far and I can already tell a difference in my ability to access my repressed emotions and process things I’ve hidden away from myself. Not to mention, the staff is ALWAYS so kind, understanding, and amenable. Klarisana, I owe my quality of life to you. The clarity I’ve gained is immeasurable and I can’t thank you all enough. Goose McCollum2024-06-09 Ive not done a ton of Google reviews, so this may be a little “TMI” or over-sharing, but Klarisana has been so key to me turning my life around I don’t really care. Also, while this is about Klarisana specifically, it likely bleeds over into an endorsement for Ketamine therapy, and that’s ok too. If you are thinking about doing it, you should… and you should certainly do it at this amazing clinic. First things first, the ease of scheduling, communication, and the natural flow of getting treatment here couldn’t be better. From the first time i approached Klarisana, it was only a week before i was able to come in and do my intake and begin treatment. I’d assume if you are looking for ketamine therapy, you’re likely not wanting to wait long, and their ability to make me a priority encouraged me and took away any jitters I had. Anytime I’ve had to reach out for insurance, making an appointment or getting medical advice, Ive heard back from someone within moments. That counts for a lot with me as my life was so chaotic, but not because Klarisana was taking their time getting back to me! The actual treatments are a dream. The facility is comfy and cozy despite it being so spacious, and it’s nothing to settle into one of the many rooms to begin. Big TV’s with clarity, oversized lazy boys to sink into, and the perfectly kept temperature points to their focus on the smallest details. The staff. THE STAFF… Wow! Ive been going to Klarisana for over a year, and their candor, compassion, and love hasn’t once faltered. Ketamine therapy means you are willing to do the hard work to change your life, and its safe to say you don’t walk in the door put together all that great, but it didn't ever matter with these gentle people. The treatment itself is difficult to put into words… it’s a total trip, but it’s never scary. What happens during sessions is better left for you to experience (and then have difficulty describing) but for me, it’s joy, elation, and gleeful. I felt hope for the first time in forever. Leo Kantus2024-05-25 Full disclosure: This is under a pen name for mental health privacy, but the review is my experience. I can't put into words how grateful I've been for the help of everyone at Klarisana. I've fought with some deep, long-term depression, and the people here genuinely care. Ketamine can be an intense experience. Based on your thoughts and intentions going in, it can put the mind in a meditative state of absolute peace and freedom where everything can make impossibly perfect sense or absolute distress and explosive chaos of every thought colliding at once in your head. But, as someone who started ketamine to help with struggles that hit a critical point over a years ago and switched to Klarisana from another clinic about six months ago, the team is wonderful. Everyone is supportive and makes a personal investment to help patients find a positive next step--whether recommending therapy and life changes or just sharing empathetic stories of their own fights to find peace. It has helped significantly with extreme bouts of panic and anxiety, sometimes weeks where I couldn't sleep more than an hour or two without being jolted awake by nightmares of work, relationships, and life purpose and palpitations that could last for days. It has helped get focus to dig out of depression in times where I didn't leave my bed or computer for countless hours just feeling the minutes tick away. What I appreciate the most about ketamine as a treatment is that it's been impactful mellowing the symptoms of anxiety without the crippling side effects of SSRIs and SNRIs that all left me feeling like an emotionless, sensationless husk. Most of all, I just appreciate the team there for what they've done in times of absolute distress. They're generally firm about treatment times--three weeks between maintenance appointments due to the doses they give--but have made a few exceptions for me to come back in a bit earlier at the judgment of their head NP, and the one time I had an extremely bad trip (after an extreme panic episode where I didn't sleep for two days and was at a critical moment of constantly looping thoughts fighting the urge to end my life), everyone was right there to help me get myself back together and sit with me to talk, to listen, and help recommend every possible support system and program option to find help. Ketamine isn't a silver bullet for curing mental health, but it's been one of the most helpful tools to help me want to try to take control of my life again. It's not fun writing a review for mental health care, but like I said at the start of this, I can't put into words how grateful I've been for the genuine people here who have done everything they can to help me want to keep trying for another day. Conor Brantley2024-05-03 The team at Klarisana are great at what they do. They provide the best environment possible to experience what Ketamine treatment has to offer. I cannot recommend them enough! Sharon English2024-04-25 We have been clients for a few years. We have always had great services. We were concerned about switching to the IM shots but have been pleasantly surprised how easy it was to switch over. Update 2024…. We continue to have a great experience with Klarisana. My daughter has been with them since around 2017. She feels very comfortable there and we feel ketamine is a huge part of her continued success battling depression. She is a working, functional young adult and ketamine is a large part of her treatment. Solar Shaun2024-04-11 I was pretty skeptical to be honest. I am now a believer. Ketamine therapy works wonders for general anxiety and panic disorder. I did the 6 session package, and it worked surprisingly well. The results are long lasting, and I'm doing maintenance once every two months. It really does help. So much better than pills that only mask the symptoms. I'm a little loopy right after but I can get back to work an hour or two after the session. The experience is an hour long, and it feels similar to dreaming. It's like a massage for your mind. After the treatment, nothing can bother you. For weeks, the anxiety is gone. Thank you Klarasana. Paulina De La Mora2024-04-05 My experience with Klarisana has been amazing. The staff is extremely kind and caring. They make sure you feel safe, heard, comfortable and tended to at all times. Everyone I’ve interacted with has had a positive impact on my treatment and I can’t thank them enough. I love how flexible and accommodating the schedule is and can only say this therapy and these peoples’ customer service has changed my life for the better in every way. Thanks Klarisana Austin team!! Clay Lancon2024-01-05 Such a great experience! I really enjoy the atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. Jessie2023-12-29 I received at least 8 IM ketamine treatments at Klarisana. Their staff is beyond kind. I always felt 150% cared for and accommodated. Anything can happen during a ketamine treatment and anytime I acted oddly they just were unjudgemental and open. The clinical staff has received treatment in order to understand the patient experience. Because of this they anticipate your needs and provide a safe space to go through a bizarre trip. These treatments saved and changed my life. I will forever feel grateful to this clinic and the amazing people that work there. Carol KD2023-12-19 Caring, warm, kind... a far cry from the approach and reception, or lack thereof, of Specialty Clinic of Austin, just across Mopac. At Klarisana, even as other patients receive their treatments, when they come in to check on you, they never rush and they sit down to talk as necessary, as if you're the only patient there. Medical professionals at Klarisana actively monitor the video of the individual treatment rooms. When mid-experience I called for help at Specialty Clinic, no one came. Felt very unsupported, just part of the business. Back to a positive note: Klarisana is doing so much right and one can feel welcome and relaxed, so important pre-treatment.
