Carolyn Gubelin
Clinical Manager,
Medical Provider
I completed my bachelor’s in nursing at the University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner), and my master’s with Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky. My experience prior to Klarisana mostly took place in the hospital- on the cardiac, transplant, and orthopedic units. My top priorities for my practice are safety and integrity, I want patients to feel cared for and feel trust in this clinic and our process. I have a passion for this type of medicine, and a lot of this is due to the outcomes in our patients and the amazing transformations I have been able to witness.

When I am not working I enjoy walking my senior dog, being out in nature, and spending time with my friends, family, and partner.
Trista Charnas
Behavioral Health Provider
LPC
Trista Charnas is a licensed professional counselor with a background in case management and counseling children, adolescents and families. Her experience in play therapy has translated nicely into the world of psychedelic medicine allowing her to comfortably work with the abstract and unordinary. Trista works from a strength based and solution focused approach meeting her patients where they’re at and always with unconditional positive regard. Trista prides herself on making therapy feel like you’re talking to an old friend and encourages you to kick off your shoes and get cozy on her couch; therapy can be difficult enough, why not get comfy? When she’s not working Trista enjoys watching her son play soccer, taking naps whenever possible, and watching Purdue basketball.
Abbey Foels
Medical Provider
I completed my master’s in nursing from Georgetown University, specializing in Women’s Health.

I have experience in a variety of clinical settings, such as outpatient mental health clinics, outpatient women’s health clinics, in-home care through home births, Colorado state prisons, and in Colorado’s education system.

My goal is to cultivate a safe space for individuals to tap into their most authentic selves to optimize growth and healing. I have a passion for working with our LGBTQ+ community and with psychedelic medicines. My hope is to always honor plant medicines and keep their culture and history alive. I have my 200 hour yoga training and incorporate mindfulness, breathwork, meditation and intention setting into my professional and personal life.

When I am not working I enjoy outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, being by a body of water and enjoying any form of live music.

Briana Spires

Briana graduated with a Masters Degree from The University of Oklahoma’s Physician Assistant program in 2013, after studying Psychology at Oklahoma State University.  After practicing as a surgical PA for 8 years, she began to reignite her interest in psychology after seeing her own family struggle to find true or complete benefit from traditional mental health treatments.

Briana completed a Psycho-Spiritual Integration certificate along with a Nutrition for Mental Health course from Being True to You in 2022.  She subsequently enrolled in Naropa University’s Psychedelic Assisted Therapies Graduate Certificate program, graduating in December of 2022.  Included in Naropa’s program was also training from the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) in MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy.  Briana continually deepens her knowledge via training courses and conferences year-round.

Briana followed a calling to return to her True self, and also guides patients to return to Self through the wisdom of their Inner Healing Intelligence. She also acknowledges with respect the Indigenous Wisdom that has been shared from generations of healers.

Briana believes daily life should contribute to wellness –  valuing health, nutrition and lifestyle.  Psychedelic experiences (and other life changing experiences) can be integrated into daily life in a way that we remain grounded while simultaneously connected to our Higher Self.

Shannon Andrews, LPC
Behavioral Health Provider

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Colorado State University, and my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University.

Throughout my career, I have worked in various settings such as community service organizations, private practice, and a psychiatric hospital. I also spent 3 years in England working for social services, which offered me significant professional and personal experience.

My role at Klarisana has been my greatest honor. Working with psychedelic medicine is unique and awe-inspiring. I aim to provide a welcoming, safe space where you can fully be yourself. I believe we all have the capacity to grow, learn, and change, and have innate strengths to draw upon. I take a person-centered approach that considers your needs and personality, while incorporating evidence-based modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and strength-based therapy. Wherever you are in your journey, I would be honored to be alongside you.

My personal interests include my love of being a mom, quality time with family and friends, puzzles, documentaries, and stand-up comedy.

Samantha Stern
Medical Provider
I graduated from Pacific University in 2017 and bring 7 years of experience and a passion for mental health to my role at Klarisana. I began my career in Lake Tahoe working in primary care before my interest in mental health led me to move to Maine and specialize in addiction medicine and psychiatric care. I later moved to Denver and joined the Klarisana team in 2023, marking a new chapter in my career. I am excited about the opportunity to practice in the field of alternative mental health treatment. I believe deeply in the power of alternative mental health treatments and am dedicated to offering my patients the most effective care options available, contributing significantly to their recovery and well-being. Outside of my professional life, I am an avid explorer who enjoys international travel, snowboarding, and discovering all that Colorado has to offer.
Erica Henston
Behavioral Health Provider
I originally graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in communication and art history from Denison University in 2008. After some searching, I learned my passion was in helping others. I have been an emergency room nurse for over 11 years. Working in emergency has given me the opportunity to work with diverse groups of people and situations. My passion for alternative medicine developed years ago when I felt there was a disconnect in treating the diagnosis, but not the person. I graduated with my master’s in nursing with a specialty in psychiatry from Saint Louis University and have a certificate degree in alternative and integrative medicine from the University of Colorado. I love being a bedside nurse, but I am ready to take my knowledge and dive into what I believe to be the future of psychiatric medicine. As a PMHNP I hope to work with each individual and collaborate on the best treatment plan to enhance well-being.
Candace Sneed
Medical Provider

Candace is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in primary care and a deep passion for mental health and holistic healing. With experience in family medicine, Candace has provided compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals across all stages of life. Candace is committed to guiding patients toward relief and profound transformation through psychedelic medicine. Her approach combines evidence-based practice with a holistic mindset, ensuring that each patient receives personalized care tailored to their unique healing journey. She recognizes ketamine not only as a powerful medical treatment but also as a gateway to deep emotional healing and self-discovery.

Beyond the clinical setting, Candace is an advocate for the responsible integration of psychedelics into mental health care and is committed to ongoing education in the field. In her  personal life, she finds peace and inspiration in nature, often hiking and immersing herself in the outdoors as a form of personal renewal. With a holistic and heart-centered approach, Candace strives to help patients rediscover hope, healing, and a greater sense of well-being.

Rachel Lee
Medical Provider
With a deep passion for mental health and alternative medicine, Rachel brings a unique background to the team. She spent eight years as a traveling nurse across five states before earning her master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner and settling in Colorado. Inspired by the potential of integrative medicine, she spent her first year of practice providing non-narcotic pain management and wellness-centered care before joining Klarisana and transitioning her focus to mental health.

Rachel is dedicated to helping patients find relief physically, mentally and spiritually, offering compassionate and evidence-based care. An adventurer at heart, she has hiked all 58 of Colorado’s 14ers and, in 2017, spent six months walking from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail. She brings this same resilience and dedication to her practice, supporting patients on their journey toward healing and well-being.

Hannah Gunnison
Medical Provider
I am a family nurse practitioner with 10 years of experience in the healthcare field. I am passionate about mental health and holistic wellness and I am currently completing a program in functional/holistic medicine. I believe in working with patients to find the root cause of their symptoms in order to help them fully heal. I believe that psychedelic medicine can be a gateway to help patients address the root cause of their mental health struggles in a way that other therapies are not able. It has been a privilege to work in the psychedelic medicine space and to witness the healing transformations of so many patients. I strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of my patients, and in the clinic I hope to serve as a beacon of hope, supporting my patients on their healing journey. I am a Kansas City native and recently moved to Colorado. Outside of work I like to spend as much time as possible outdoors, exploring the beauty that Colorado has to offer.
