BEFORE SESSIONS
Things to Consider Before Treatment
Give Yourself Some Time & Space
- The time leading up to your session is where the set and setting for your session begins. Arriving early or giving yourself time before a telehealth appointment allows for you to unwind, take some time to yourself and ease into your session in a calm and relaxed environment. This can be outside on a walk, in your home or car, or inside a Klarisana facility.
- During this time, you may close your eyes and focus on your breathing, taking deep breaths to activate your parasympathetic nervous system that triggers your body’s “rest and digest” response.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR SESSION
Medication Management
You’ll meet with a Klarisana psychiatric provider who will:
- Review your mental health history and current symptoms
- Discuss medication options, effects, and potential side effects
- Adjust medications as needed and monitor your progress
This is a collaborative process—we want your treatment to feel empowering, not overwhelming.
What to Bring
- A list of current medications (including supplements)
- Any past psychiatric records or evaluations, if available
- Notebook or journal (optional, but helpful for tracking thoughts or integration insights)
- Questions or concerns—we want you to feel heard and supported
For virtual sessions: Make sure you’re in a quiet, private space with a good internet connection.
